Northumbria School of Law is one of the largest Law Schools in northern England.
Allows module-based elevation; students can carry their failed module to a higher year of study .
Students transferred from other LLB distance learning programmes to the Northumbria programme may be exempt from modules that they have covered before.

Provides students with a qualifying LLB degree that gives exemption from the academic stage of training to become a solicitor or barrister in UK.

Mixes academic study with the practical applications of law, and is a relevant qualification for a range of careers.
Ideal for those students who are unable to attend the institution regularly for tuition. All students are given an extensive set of study materials in each subject, including guidance notes.
Students may attend in the UK two study weeks, which will run in December/January and March/April.
Designed to give students an understanding of the operation of the English legal system, the diverse areas of law contained within that system and the methods employed by lawyers in using legal source materials.
Emphasis is placed on student-centred learning to foster research skills and initiative.
A programme fully administered by the Northumbria University School of Law.
The Northumbria Law School was selected as ONE of the only 5 institutions outside of London to provide the Bar Vocational Course BVC leading to the completion of the academic training for a Barrister in England and Wales.
   
Students sit for their exams in Hong Kong.

Tuition Fees: Tuition Fee - ￡310 per module (a total of 12 modules) - payable annually in 2 equal instalments in bank draft to the University direct and the first instalment is made during initial enrolment.
    Examination Fee - HK$465 (or ¢G30 whichever is higher) per module per attempt made payable to Ana Omega Consulting Limited in a local crossed cheque.

Duration of Study:

4 yr min. - 6 yr max; shorter duration for students granted Advanced Standing entry and/or credit transfer.

Students who have already obtained a degree in a discipline other than law, or who have studied law at degree level, may be able to obtain exemption from up to 3 option modules.  This shall be assessed in a case by case basis.  Students who are eligible for full advanced standing are able to complete the programme in 3 years. Associate Degree, Higher Diploma and Higher Certificate graduates may also be offered with exemption.

Transfer of credits from modules completed within a LLB delivered by universities in the UK and Hong Kong is also permissible. Students can opt for joining a non-qualifying law degree programme in case they want to obtain maximum amount of credit transfer from their current LLB studies at other universities in the UK or Hong Kong.

Recognitions: This programme is a qualifying law degree, which satisfies the requirement of the academic stage of training to become a barrister or solicitor in England and Wales.  Graduates may apply for admission the on-campus Legal Practice Course (LPC) or the Bar Vocational Course (BVC) offered by the Northumbria University.

Assessment Methods:
This programme is fully administered by the Northumbria University and all matters related to assessments will be arranged by the University direct.  Subjects are assessed by a combination of coursework and written examination. Foundation stage subjects are not counted towards the degree classification.
