St. Bees School was founded in 1583. It is a day and boarding school for about 300 pupils, drawn from all over the United Kingdom, with a significant number of pupils from China and Eastern Europe.
St. Bees School offers an extensive and varied weekend programme and trips for boarders. It accommodates day pupils and also boarders, who live in five boarding houses located on the school grounds and in the village.
